    Question broadband connection with modem configured as router

    i have bsnl broad band connection and my modem is configured as pppoe bridged router...i am unable to connect..
    nothing happens when i connect my lan wire....
    please giv me exact steps as i am new to linux

    We will need some more info to be able to help you establish the internet connection.

    Did you test the connection with for example a Windows PC? Sure it's working?

    Which openSUSE did you install?
    What architecture (32/64 bit) does your system have?
    Can you start the system and run the desktop?
    Was the system connecting during install, i.e. did you perform an online update at the end of install procedure?

    i hv installed opensuse 11.1 from a dvd tht i borrowed form a frnd...
    my proceesor is dual core 32 bit... i hv dual boot system with xp installed...
    the broadband works perfectly with windows....
    i hv utstarcomm modem configured as router....it uses pppoe bridged ethernet connection...
    every thing else is workin fine in opensuse...
