Thread: compiz (not)working on laptop

  1. #1

    Default compiz (not)working on laptop

I have acer aspire 5735 with c2d t5800 and intel gma 4500MHD card
Compiz is installed on gnome ,but did not used for long time.
Few days ago I tried to turn it on and it uses 30 - 40 % of cpu, switching between workspaces is slow , if cube deformation is turned on almost unusable.
This was not before, compiz was quite good , and had no big problems and that big cpu usage!
    Anny help?

    Hi
If you run either Desktop effects from the control center or
simple-cssm for the command line. Try setting the effects to default
    and see how it goes.
