Internet goes horrifically slow on SUSE/KDE 64-bit

Internet goes horrifically slow on SUSE/KDE 64-bit--using the bundled FF browser and all latest updates.

Changing back to the HD with Windows XP 32-bit and FF, it goes lighting fast in compare.

Is this a problem, or is it normal?

Try typing (without quotes) 'about:config' in the firefox address bar, then typing 'ipv6' in the filter box, then set disable ipv6 to 'true'. Often helps.

above will turn off IPv6 in the browser, you probably also need to
turn it off system wide, to this:

Open Yast -> Network Devices ->Network Settings and in Global Options
tab Uncheck Enable IPv6

wow suse 11.1 is nuts!!!
Used suggested default of ivp6 off and poof no way can printers work (get continuously can't connect to servers none available) but internet run at 54mbits/sec steady.
Came here and found out that Yast requires ivp6 on to use printers. So turned it on and printer is seen but can't be used because no driver exist for anything but dot matrix. So printer can't function. Stupid idea to link printers thru network when they are local.
Came back here and poof internet now at 1kbit/sec, changed back to no ivp6 and internet now max at 10kbit/sec.

How can you have printing and fast internet when yast controls everything and won't allow you to do your own thing! My primary reason for dumping Microsoft after 35 years was loss of control.
I need some help to resolve these issues pls help someone

for a year longer than they existed..

i must say you have far more patience than i do...i jumped off their
product in '95..

Where did you learn this? I do not find that to be the case.
