Question ASUS EEEPC 1005HA-P OSD control features

    Hi,
I got OpenSuSE 11.1 (32bit) installed on Seashell 1005HA-P, with almost everything working.
The only missing tool from "wintendo" is a set of functions from hot keys combinations. I got most of them from the packages of the Build Service:

    eeepc_laptop-kmp-default
    asus_acpi-kmp-default

but there is a package that seems to complete the functions changing between the power profiles, turning on and off bluetooth, wireless, setting hot keys, etc by a nice GUI that is stated only as compatible with EEEPC model 1000H and earlier.

    Check this:
    OSD eeepc control from Software.openSUSE.org

Does anybody have tried this package on 1005HA?

    thanks!
    gps

I've got the same system and have been struggling with this for a while. I would love to get more detail on how you accomplished this.
    • Which repositories did you use (there seem to be several involving eee in some form, none official)?
    • Are you restricted to a particular kernel version or can I go with the current (subject to change) version?
    • Besides installing the rpms, were there files you had to update or add.
    • Is there anything else I need to know?

This information would be a huge help. Thanks in advance.
