I’ve installed and configured the backend and frontend for mythtv. I have successfully scanned for channels and added them to the mysql database with mythfilldatabase.
When I choose ‘watch TV’ from the frontend, all I get is a black screen. and looking at the log file I get this message:
NVR(/dev/video0): Won’t work with the streaming interface, falling back
strange error flushing buffer …
VIDIOCGMBUF:: Invalid argument
I’ve added the codec packages from Packman.
Any ideas and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Do you have a hardware mpeg encoder card like Hauppauge PVR or something similar and set to Analog v4l capture card? If so, set it to mpeg2 encoder board in mythtv-setup. I’ve made this mistake a long time ago;)
Thanks for the info. That got me one step closer. I don’t see that error message in the log file now. But unfortunately I don’t see any video either. I do have to change the audio sample rate to 48000Hz according to the log, but that’s the only problem it’s telling me about.
