Default Problem with DNS on OpenSUSE 10.3

    Hello!

I got a task on school, to setup a DNS n' DHCP server, on openSUSE 10.3(using that version cuz of old PC's)

I've configured the DHCP to have some dynamic IPadresses, and one registered Host for each of us on the group(4 pc's).

The DNS is configured with two forwarders, the firewall(monowall) and the DNS @ WAN in our lab.

The problem is that the DNS don't find the other PC's on the net, if I nslookup's one of the other PC's on my subnet, it fails. It works to the web tho.

So I wondered how to set up the DNS to find the PC's on my group?

    Some commands I've tried;
    Code:
    tarjei:/home/tarjei # nslookup 192.168.10.51
    Server: 192.168.10.5
    Address: 192.168.10.5#53

    ** server can't find 51.10.168.192.in-addr.arpa.: NXDOMAIN
    Code:
    tarjei:/home/tarjei # nslookup http://www.opensuse.org/en/
    Server: 192.168.10.5
    Address: 192.168.10.5#53

    ** server can't find http://www.opensuse.org/en/.gruppe1.lokal: SERVFAIL

Here is some printpages so see how I've configured the DNS.

let me see if i got this right:

    - you are in school

    - you have been assigned a task in a class

    - you are having trouble with that class work

    - you want us to read the documents and think about the problem and
give you the answer to problem

    am i right so far?

if so, then think about this: perhaps the teacher had in mind YOU read
the documentation and think about the problem until YOU solve it.

    innovative way of teaching, huh?

I agree with goldie. Do some reading on dns first and then, look at:
