repair a build kernel

someone built me a kernel
it appears that there is an error loading the kernel.
I found where the mistake is and I want to rebuild the kernel.
I got all sources on my machine.
Could someone tell me how to proceed, I have never done this

"Forums" are not a real-time chat tool. You have only waited about 2.5
hours for an answer - it could be at least 24 hours before you get a
response, depending on who's around.
Building kernels is not an overly trivial task (though it is much easier
now than it used to be) - if it's something you're not familiar with, you
might start by reading information at http://www.faqs.org/docs/Linux-
HOWTO/Kernel-HOWTO.html as a starting point.
What is the reason you feel you need to custom compile your kernel?

I'm very sorry, but your post unwillingly explains why you should not even try now. You're telling us you can repair a custom built kernel, having all the sources, just not knowing how to do it. That's one big discrepancy.

Perhaps you missed my pointer to a tutorial on kernel building?
I would suggest reading that over first - then if you have questions
about the process, we can try to help you out.
