Default Huawei e220 connection performances 11.0 vs 11.1

    Hi
I have two laptop a fujitsu (mine) and a samsung nc10 the first one with opensuse 11.0 the second with 11.1.
Connecting the same HUAWEI E220 stick on the two system I got different speed performances.
This is the log of the 11.1 system:

here the modem show the blue light meaning HDSPA speed.

Clearly the data of the connection defined in NetworkManager are identical
Any hints to understand why the two different speed and why they get different DNS addresses?
    thank you in advance

P.S. if I put the APM of my ISP on the connection configuraton of 11.1 the connection is closed with "error 15" in pppd this not happen in 11.0

Default Re: Huawei e220 connection performances 11.0 vs 11.1

By the looks of things 11.1 uses a higher version number of nm-pppd-plugin.so. I am going to say it's the network manager that needs updating here. Will that make it go faster, I don't know. I found my 3g modem very temperamental with connection speeds and not very consistant.

Looks like 11.0 has a manual network setting and this is why it's giving you different DNS and stuff. Try setting it to automatic under YAST.
