    Default Multiple SAX2 Configurations?

    Hello,
Hopefully I have posted this in the right category. I have one of those annoying problems that some people will experience but chances are there is no fix for it. I have a laptop and when I come home its nice to plug it into an external monitor. Now I have got all this working for my dual monitor setup but if I want to unplug my monitor to go to class its a hassle, I have to modify my setup and reboot. I was wondering if there was a way to switch between different (I'm going to call it a SAX2 configuration but it might be like xorg or something I'm not sure) Sax2 configurations on bootup so I can choose which setup I want? There might be a way to do this already I'm not sure but I'm stumped. Like some way to run a script before opensuse starts or something. I have this problem in ubuntu too so adding another grub menu item like 'OpenSuse dual monitor mode' or something then just selecting that and being launched into dual monitor mode. I'm not a huge beginner in linux, probably an intermediate user. Hope that made sense.

    Thanks

Depends on what hardware (graphic card) you have. I would think TwinView would be your solution. This means that you have 2 monitors set up.
    Please post some more info:
    graphics card
    monitor
    content of your /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Anyway there should be no need for seperate boot options.

When I use twin view I get weird results. It doesn't work as well as when I edit Sax2. When I use twinview my desktop effects go away (like wobbly windows) and I experience strange behaviour between the dual monitors. If you believe twinview is the solution then I could diagnose my problem in twin view and file a bug when I have more information on the strange behaviour.

    I have an LG204wt Monitor
An Nvidia Geforce 8400 GS graphics card

    My xorg.conf contains:
    Code:
