Default HP LaserJet 1200series is not working

Well my printer was never working quickly on openSUSE 11.1, but when I was trying to print something today it didn't even start working.
It does not print .odt, .pdf, and any other format or test pages.

When I open the HP Device Manager it showes jobs which I orderd.
Status is Pending (with sandglass), there is title of job and Job ID. I have removed orders by clicking "Cancel job" and tryied again. Still the same.
Few dayes ago I upgrated hplib (Packman repositories, version 3.9.8-15.pm.27.1-i586) and I believe that this could be the couse.

Does anyone have the same problem or know how to fix it?
    Thanks for any help.

Have you checked CUPS? At one time I used to get an occasional problem with CUPS stopping; all it needed was a restart.

That is probably because by default the driver(s) use Postscript to talk
to the printer, which can be very slow if the page is large and complicated.
Using a PCL driver is much faster and gives the same results.

No, but I do not use hplib, just a ppd file that came with the setup

*% PPD file for HP LaserJet 1200 Foomatic/hpijs with CUPS.

    *Product: "HP LaserJet 1200"

I have not noticed anything different with my LJ1200

    Revert back.

I had the same (or very similar) problem with a HP LaserJet 1018. It worked, then I upgraded HPLIP to 3.9.x from Packman, and it stopped working. Because the upgrade happened days before we had to print I didn't initially attribute the problem to the upgrade...time was wasted.

I ran around running the hp diagnostics, installing supplemental & 'required' depenendancies, re-installing the printer firmware, re-installing the proprietary plug-in, restarting cups...using YaST to revert back to version 2.x.y was the easiest method and the only one that worked (although to be fair, I was under the gun to get it fixed right away - there's certainly a solution using the newer version but finding it was not worth the trouble).

ReferenceSeete - downgradeing hplib to 2.x.x version didn't help.

john_hudson - how to restart CUPS? (Computer restart does not help)

LittleRedRooster - can you tell me step by step how to use new drivers?

In YaST2 go to printer config in Hardware
Make sure the printer is switch on so it can be recognized and then in
    Printer Configurations press Add
From the list of drivers select "hp_laserjet_1200_hpijs_plc13.ppd.gz"
Enter a "Set Name" (e.g. HP1200-PCL) and press Ok
Then go to the Edit page and set options like Default and page size.
It is/should be easy enough to figure out for yourself though..
