Default How to remove items from openSUSE 11 kickoff menu

    Hi,

I am running openSUSE 11 and I have installed a few programs with wine. I have uninstalled some that I do not need any longer. My problem is that after I have uninstalled them from wine, they are still listed in the kickoff menu (start menu) when I search for it. How can I remove items from the kickoff menu?

    Many thanks

    H

    Hi didencool,

I opened the menu editor and deleted the items under wine that I did not need any longer. I saved the settings, but the items still appeard in the menu. Do you perhaps have any other suggestions?

To explain my situation: I have installed a windows version of TightVNC with wine. I used it for a little while then I discoverd openSUSE's built in KRDC which i prefer over TightVNC. So I uninstalled TightVNC with wine uninstaller. Afterwards the TightVNC icon still appeard under the kickoff menu. I then went and opened up the menu editor and deleted TightVNC under wine and saved the settings, but still after that the option is still available under the kickoff menu.

    I hope you can help.

    Thanks

with wine it's a bit different story

    the FAQ from wine said

    http://tr.im/wFiL

    so you should look in
    Code:
    $HOME/.config/menus/applications-merged/wine*
    $HOME/.local/share/applications/wine
    $HOME/.local/share/desktop-directories/wine*
    hope this helps

    Hi didencool,

I tried your advice and it works 100%. I deleted the wine entries in those folders. Thank you very much. I am now a happy man.

    Kind regards
