Thread: Getting Grub back

    Default Getting Grub back

I have openSUSE 11.1 installed on my laptop with spare partitions to add Windows. I then installed Windows 7 RC. Now the machine only boots to Windows. How do I get Grub back and how do I add Windows to Grub?

Boot up with the DVD or CD and go into the Repair System option. You can add a menu item to boot Windows from YaST once you have openSUSE running again.

    Another option:

Use one of these methods to get into openSUSE: Five ways Boot into openSUSE when it won't Boot from the Grub Code on the Hard Drive

Then use the method in the appendix of that tutorial to repair the bootloader.
