Default Slow Intel Graphics - openSUSE 11.

Hi, I noticed that my Intel 82815 (i815) graphics card runs slow on openSUSE 11.1. I know that many people have this issue, but I've been unable to find a satisfactory solution so far. My graphics card isn't powerful enough for compiz effects, so those aren't turned on. I get around 45-50 fps with glxgears. Does anyone know if there's an updated intel driver or an method to speed up my graphics card's rendering? thanks.

Not in direct answer, but it may not be the "power" that keep you from
running compiz, but rather the 64M footprint minimum requirement. I
know what I have an old i810 that can do compositing effects using KDE3
(please not I said 3 and NOT 4), because KDE3 compositing was pretty
basic and didn't require a lot of graphic memory.

While I have NOT tried (at least I'm pretty sure) openSUSE 11.1 on my
old i810 based machine, I know that 10.3 worked ok and I was able to
play simple games like Tuxracer at 1024x768. But even so, it was
obvious that was pretty much pushing the platform to the edge of what
    was possible.
