    Default PS3 install

I'm thinking of installing openSUSE 11.1 on my PS3 but I am unsure of the functionality it will have.
Here are some things I want to be able to do and questions that i have:

    - Will I be able to use the Blu-Ray drive?
    - Will I get good network speeds? Similar to a normal PCs?
    - Will I be able to use a torrent client?
    - What could i use for playback of mkv.
    - Will I be able to use the PS3's CPU power to its full potential?
    - Can I use the 1080i tv to its full potential resolution?

Are there any other problems that I have overlooked?
And also can I create a DVD from which I can boot for the PS3 so that I can test it out and if so how could this be achieved? And also I can still boot into the PS3 OS? right?

Edit: Customization is also a must

Have you looked at the PS3 Wiki?

    PS3 - openSUSE

From my experience, the ps3 is not a good personal computer. All of its hardware is locked away by the hypervisor so you can't use all the power of the ps3. You'll have to download the PowerPC DVD version which does not have a live-cd so you cannot try it out first.

    Take Care,
