trouble mounting external HDD

when trying to access my external in Dolphin it gives me this error message

mount: only root can mount /dev/sdc1 on /media/GRYZ

External media normally mounted by hal/desktop. Does other external media mount ok? You didn't add an fstab entry for this by mistake perhaps? Can you post output of

fdisk -l
cat /etc/fstab

If this looks ok, it may be a system policy that needs adjusting...
