NX Free installation error

When I try to install NX Free packages on openSUSE 11.1 an error occurs “Failed dependences Isof is needed by nxnode”

There is no such package in repositories.
I have installed libisofs5 and libisofs6 but I still got same error.
Any ideas?

Search in Yast software management for isof with the rpm provides check box checked

There is no such package in repositories :stuck_out_tongue:

rpm -q --whatprovides /usr/bin/lsof
lsof-4.80-1.22

->

zypper in lsof

lsof is in the oss repo`s:

http://packages.opensuse-
community.org/index.jsp?searchTerm=lsof&distro=openSUSE_111

Mind the wrap there.

you need to bookmark this pag (webpin):

http://packages.opensuse-community.org/

Or install the:

webpin-package-search-yast-1.0-0.pm.2 - Desktop file to reach webpin with
yast

This gives you a search option in the software part of YaST

Also if you have the dvd version of SuSE you can install the command “pin”
this when run the first time will ask for the DVD and then d/load from the
disk the archive containing all the packages, this then can be queried with
the pin command giving the appropriate package that contains the search
criteria.

man pin

When I try this I get an error msg ‘ERROR CD/DVD not mounted’ and the pin command closes. If I immediately switch to a Dolphin window, there is the DVD available to browse. Doesn’t this mean its mounted? If not, what do I have to do to mount it?

Weird… I don’t have such package
But I found it on Build Service
Thanks for help.

The condition of your repo’s might explain. Have you been using OneClick installers!

I guess you have a reason for not refreshing the kde4 repo’s?
Otherwise it’s OK in respect of the point in question, and you should have been able to get the result @Chrysantine suggested.
Other than that I see you have VLC enabled (Not recommended)

Why not?

Because it’s supply of codecs will conflict with Packman. you should noly have libdvdcss from VLC. Then do unconditional update in Packman. You may still have orphaned packages from vlc though as you have had it enabled.

When run from the commandline ( where else )

You should see something like this:

barkit@furtlurker:~> pin lsof

*** pin found no ARCHIVES_11.1.gz file in /var/lib/pin/

pin will copy the files, please enter root password :

Password:

no file ARCHIVES_11.1.gz found

please insert CD1/DVD in your CD-ROM/DVD drive / bitte CD1/DVD einlegen

please eject all medias from other drives / bitte entfernen Sie andere
Medien aus den Laufwerken.

press enter to continue - Bitte enter druecken

please wait / bitte warten

copy ARCHIVES.gz to /var/lib/pin/…

At least that is what I just got, I must say that when I first did it I was
a bit slow putting the disk in and so it was not mounted before it tried to
copy the archives file over and so after it stated it could not find it I
just executed:

pin lsof and it searched again and copied the file across the second try
after the disk had been miunted and this was the result from my search:
