Email formatting with Firefox

I do not know if this is a browser problem or does belong to the settings and capacities of my Internet provider. But I tend to think it is a browser settings problem.

Description:
I have to write often email through a web-interface in different languages. Typical example is Spanish, French and German. When I use the keyboard settings of Spanish, French and German through KDE 3.5 and type an email in Internet through the interface (in my case freenet) then the mail is firstly correctly represented on the screen. But then the receiver tells me he has trouble to read it because ñ for example is written like “ntilde” or aaccentgrave for an accentuated a, something like it.
When I get the replies I have the same problems.
Is this a provider or a Firefox setting problem? Anybody an idea about that?
The email is not html.

Most surely the problem relies on the webmail html or ajax coding.

Try to set the webmail interface to send in “utf-8” instead “iso-8859-1” or
whatever character encoding to prevent such problems.
