Build new Applications menu

I would like to build a new applications menu with only what I use. I click on it and it expands like the other standard apllications menue but witout expand arrows, just app’s that I use. Does anyone know how I could do this?

I have messed around with the traditonal GNOME and changing that but it cannnot be made simple enough for what I want.

Try “Alacarte”, it’s a gnome menu editor.
