    Default Installing software

I m new to OpenSUSE, just migrated from windows. I am useing openSUSE 11.1 (64) in Intel Core 2 duo 2.8 Ghz, 2 GB DDR2 RAM, Intel Dg41ty Motherboard.

AND I don't have internet connection to above mentioned system.

So, how can I Install new software or update the installed one. I can download file it from Cafe.

Hope to get ur useful answer soon...

You can download RPMs ad later can install it. But some time you will face dependencies issues.
Lets say, you want to use flash plugin, you can download it from adobe site(RPM) and later install it...but not sure about any dependencies. This is just example.

Go to YaST>Software>Software management and see if what you want is there.

If not, check Online repositories to make sure that you have the repositories for software like OO and Mozilla enabled.

If you cannot find what you want that way, go to Software.openSUSE.org

and if not Google <software> openSUSE and you may find it in a community repository.

Whenever you download software from a repository such as packman or videolan which is not part of openSUSE the repository will normally be added to your list for updating purposes.

What you say is all very true. But I am afraid you missed the fact that he said:
AND I don't have internet connection to above mentioned system.
I suppose he means to say that the system has no Internet connection so no repos exept his DVD.
