    Default Flash plugin

    Hi
I am new to Suse. I am using ver 11.0 64bit. I have it installed in Virtual box on top of Vista home preumium, 64 bit. Amd 2.2 dual core, 4gb of ram. I have Virtual box set with 25gb and 512 of ram. I have to figure out how to dual boot with Vista. I have a question about install flash player. I am a Cisco student and to be able to veiw materials I need flash player. I downloaded and installed flash-plugin-10.0.22.87-releasei386.rpm. Not sure if this is the correct one. I think it is. When I try to veiw material I get an erorr message saying Flash player has stopped an unsafe operation. ould my problem be from running in Virtual box?

    thanks, Doug

If using a 64 bits firefox you need the 64 bits flash player plugin.

What browser are you using and where did you download that rpm file?

I am using Firefox. I downloaded file from Adobe.com. I just looked and they do not say if it is 32 or 64 bit or give an option for either one.

    Thanks, Doug

    It is here:

    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html

    And some FAQs, here:

    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/f...yer10/faq.html

Standard download page has 32 bits versions, not suitable if you installed a
    64 bits firefox.

Remember 64 bits flashplayer is still beta.

I removed the 64 bit version and installed Suse 32 bit version. I downloaded flashplayer and still can noy get my program to run. I gave this setup 1GB of ram. My problem could be trying to run from Virtual box.
    Thanks for the help.

Open Firefox and type "aboutlugins". You should see there "Shockwave
    Flash".

I also have an opensuse 11.1 on a VirtualBox running fine flash.

Can't you see any flash video? I.e., YouTube?

You said something about Cisco student material right? Then it can be
possible they use a kind of ActiveX to load the flash, and ActiveX only
    works with Internet Explorer.
