Thread: New X Sessions launch with no sound.

  1. #1

Default New X Sessions launch with no sound.

I use a script to launch Regnum Online (a Game).
the sound works fine without the script, but I want it in a another X session.

    Code:
    # Launches a new X session on display 2 with Regnum
    X :2 -ac & DISPLAY=:2 /home/user/regnum/rolauncher
Therefore it must be the new x session?
Tried various different sound configs. No Diff..
ALSA and PULSE work but not in my new X session..

(The default didn't work, hence Pulse and ALSA)
I have onboard sound on a 790i Utlra SLI EVGA Mobo. (I'm using analog sound, not digital)

Do I need something else in this script?

    Nothing mentions sound errors..
    Just the fonts..
Game works fine, but no sound in X session 2..
frustrating.. do i have to edit the xorg.conf ?
    BTW
OpenSuse DVD install 64 Bit Version 11.1
    All updates online done.
All fonts downloaded (as far as i know)
    This is in Gnome..

However I have installed all the other desktops, KDE3 & 4, XFCE Ice-sumthing, yet to see if they make any difference though..
