It doesn't go towards splitting the knowledge pool one little bit that is absurd people will go where ever they get help from...

I'm a member of both yet I contribute more here, if you're worried people are going to leave you in droves then you have more problems than sigs.
I have to agree with FeatherMonkey. I can see why sigs need approval and monitoring, but there shouldn't be any problem re forum or info links per se.

There may or may not be...that's why the Terms and Conditions say to ask
for staff approval first. Is there really a good reason NOT to ask first?

Mmm isn't this what this thread is doing?
Man first, have a try at Info, have a look at Wiki, if all that fails Scroogle!!!!!
If I've helped click on the Rep button I don't know what it does but it sounds cool.

Hey guys, I'm really confused. I see this:
    Hey dragonbite:

    >I'm not allowed url BB code in my sig.

Neither is anyone right now except staff. As Keith said, we're fighting
spammers and we're still trying to find the right balance between fighting
    spammers and bbcode rights. See............
Then I see links in FeatherMonkey's sig.

So are links in sigs switched on or switched off? Or don't links have anything to do with BB code?

Hey You! Kim!(sorry couldn't resist ) Thanks for the explanation.
Well I can understand not wanting to cause another split up of forums, IIRC so do the Admin of Suseunbound.
As far as my inquiry goes I'm clear. I can & will mention other forums in passing as per the example you gave.
Problem is though I seem to have opened another can of worms.
This thread has taken on a life of its own along the line of, "well he can why can't I?!"
Now if I may put in my 2c I'd like to make suggestions these have probably been discussed but here they are:
1.Some sort of objective measure, post count or maybe reputations or combination
2.A request made by a member, then a contract between the forum & the requestor
3.A request made by a member, the site is checked perhaps using the McAfee site advisor or something like it
As said these have probably been discussed of them my favorite is the 1st. If someone has both a high post count & good reputation IMO they'd want to protect it, thus being very selective of what goes in their sig.

I'll take your request back to the crew to chew on. As you can see, we're
fighting spam and trying to figure out the right balance.
