Avahi not working

Hi!

I am trying to get Avahi to work!
Open Suse 11.1

avahi-browse -ar

Nothing ever happens.

Is there any known issue about this?
Anyone already tried it out?

openSUSE 10.3 and avahi seems running fine here (well, I guess :-P):

avahi-browse -a -v

Server version: avahi 0.6.20; Host name: stthpc.local

Domain

  • eth2 IPv4 linux SSH Remote
    Terminal local
  • eth2 IPv4 SFTP File Transfer on linux SFTP File Transfer
    local
  • eth2 IPv4 linux [00:30:48:xx:xx:xx] Workstation
    local
    : Cache exhausted
    : All for now

  • Do you have avahi daemon up and running? (su -c ‘rcavahi-daemon status’)

  • Also, check the logs to get more info (su -c ‘cat /var/log/messages | grep
    avahi’)
