Default New Guy w/Wine & Repository Question

I've sort of fiddled with openSuse before in the past but now I've decided to get a little bit more into it and now have openSuse 11.1 on one of my machines and I'm having a few issues.

At the moment I'm trying to install Wine. I've looked at some of the other posts here in the forum but I keep running into the mentioning of repositories and I have no idea as to what repositories are or how to add one. I could be very wrong but, I have a feeling that I need to add a wine repository, which I have on my computer on my desktop, in order to run ./tool/wineinstall. Anybody out there willing to set the new guy straight?
