Uninstalling software and ignoring dependencies is an extremely poor idea that will cause you issues in the long run (and most likely in the short run to be honest) and the system will restore the dependency the next time you're verifying things or one of the packages upgrades.

A much better solution is to figure out what is causing the conflict, one obvious solution might be to switch to "Novell" supplied gstreamer packages completely if that is an option.

I'm gonna see if I can somehow replicate your issue on my installation, this might take a while tho' as I have to switch between different packages.

I have the same problem as tekos. Arghhhh! All I want is to have a working webcam while chatting with my friends on msn. Tried using kopete and kmess. No go for either.

I had the same problem when I installed and tried to run exaile (my favorite player when I used Ubuntu). I followed earlier advice about getting all the gstreamer plugins from one source, ie packman, and that seemed to do the trick for me.
