Default Gnome, headless workstation, Xming errors

    OpenSuse 11.1 x86-64

I'm trying to run this machine headless as what I'm calling a "headless portable workstation" - mini-itx "workstation" brought to client sites accessed via my laptop (WinXP / PuttySSH / Xming X Server).

I use PuttySSH to SSH in and start gnome. It starts OK, albeit some error messages

Works decently. Error happens when certain windows try to be created. One instance was when there was a pop-up w/ firefox, but I can't recreate it. BUT what I can recreate is when I launch an RPM, and the YaST Software Manager launches, it freezes up and I get the following in my SSH session

    me@os111:~> Nautilus-Share-Message: REFRESHING SHARES

What don't you try NX? That will be perfect for this.
openSUSE 12.3 (x86_64) with Kernel 3.7.10-1.16-desktop and KDE 4.11.2 on MacBook Pro
Latest MS Windows version used: Win95

thanks for the tip! i wasn't familiar w/ NX. searched on it, found a nice guide, and it works pretty well. still giving it a more thorough test, but so far so good. performance even seems better.

    thanks again.
