    Exclamation Open SUSE DVD

    If i download open SUSE DVD edition and install it in then can i acquire all softwares like openoffice base ,both gnome,kde desktop,video codecs etc. which are excluded in live cd

    The DVD is not much different then the CD installer, though there is a bit more software preinstalled.
    But codecs are not on the downloadable DVD, there are way too many legal issues in including them by default.

    Here you can find a how-to about installing these restricted formats (codecs, flash, etc.)

    Can i get openoffice completely like with openoffice base as i don't have it in live cd

    I dont think so, openoffice on opensuse is kind of odd compared to other distros.
    But one can easily install it separately, if you need help installing apps just ask

    yes, except you get all codecs are on NO CD or DVD, you get them
    online, for free, at http://opensuse-community.org/Restricted_Formats

    AND, if you have already installed via a Live CD there is NO need to
    start over to get _everything_, just use YaST and the internet to get
    only the additional pieces you need..

    you can use the advanced search function of this forum to learn
    exactly how to add Gnome, OpenOffice bits and etc..
