Problem with fonts when connecting projector

Hi all,
I am experiencing a problem with my font resolution and size when connecting a projector to my laptop. The weird thing is that when Xorg detects the projector even from the display manager, it reduces the font size and makes it barely readable. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I’m using KDE 4.2 and opensuse 10.3 with Nvidia drivers and settings installed. I have tried to change font size from the KDE settings menu, but system fonts are still unaffected.
Any help would be appreciated,
TIA

Just a “wild guess”.

Have you tried to force kde to use 96 dpi? This can be set on KDE control
center (fonts).

The projector and nVidia display adapter+drivers can’t come to an agreement what the DPI should be and thus it’s going whacko.

If forcing via KDE does not work you can force the DPI by editing **/etc/X11/xorg.conf **and adding Option “DPI” “96 x 96” in the same section as where it defines nVidia as the display adapter.

This of course requires restarting X (logging out should be enough, if not, rcxdm restart )
