    Red face Latex mfpic supp-pdf.tex

    Hello everyone! (opensuse 11.1, xfce)

I have the following problem, producing a figure with latex/mfpic. Running pdflatex for the second time, I get an error message stating that supp-pdf.tex cannot be found.

Reading pages like #465107 - texlive-metapost: missing supp-pdf.tex and supp-mis.tex - Debian Bug report logs, I downloaded supp-pdf.tex and supp-mis.tex from CTAN and put them into the ~/texmf/tex directory. This resulted in the exact same error message.

I have no clue what to do now. Thanks in advance for the help.

    Here's the output of pdflatex:

    Code:

The graphics driver for pdfTeX needs `supp-pdf.tex' (and `supp-mis.tex')
    to convert MP to PDF.
These files are part of ConTeXt and can also be found here:
      CTAN:macros/pdftex/graphics/supp-pdf.tex
      CTAN:macros/pdftex/graphics/supp-mis.tex
You'll get more errors if you'll continue now.

I don't know if this is the case but, if LaTeX keeps a directory of available files, it may need updating to tell it that it is available.

I have to do this in LyX but assumed this was only a LyX requirement.

    Thank you for your reply!

This is a good idea. Unfortunately I think latex does that automatically. I have already put in .sty files and it worked without refreshing the database.

Anyway, I tried it but it is still not working.
