Default Cannot mount audio cd following Dolphin crash

    Hello

Dolphin crashed while I was swapping CD's and since then I cannot get audio CD's to mount or play in Dolphin, Konqueror, Amarok, KsCD etc.

Other media such as DVD and data CD are fine.

Ripping an audio CD with k3b works fine.

In Konqueror audiocd:/ says the process died unexpectedly

    Dmesg:

[ 3168.772457] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0] Add. Sense: Illegal mode for this track
    [ 3168.772479] end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 0
    [ 3168.775493] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0] Result: hostbyte=DID_OK driverbyte=DRIVER_SENSE
    [ 3168.775557] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0] Sense Key : Illegal Request [current]
[ 3168.775572] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0] Add. Sense: Illegal mode for this track
    [ 3168.775595] end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 0

    Mount command:

    # mount -t iso9660 /dev/scd0 /media/cd
mount: block device /dev/sr0 is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sr0,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
    dmesg | tail or so

    Any ideas???

    Cheers
    Steve

Default Re: Cannot mount audio cd following Dolphin crash

While I understand that your problem is that audio CDs do not play, this has nothiing to do with mounting, because audio CDs can not be mounted. There is no filesystem on them. Also not an iso9660 filesystem as you seem to presume.

The above may not help to solve your problem, but it may stop you from looking for a solution in the wrong direction.
