Unhappy Firefox extensions and more to reconfigure at every launch

Talk about annoying: Every single time I start Firefox I have to configure MediaPlayerConnectivity (can't do without that one!), Foxtrick, StumbleUpon etc.

I also have to tick "Zoom only text" in the View -> Zoom option to not have horribly ugly web graphics on every page.

Tried reinstalling Firefox but that didn't help. Other suggestions?
    Correct me if I'm wrong.

Re-installing FF would be unlikely to help

    You could try this:
    Rename the .mozilla folder .mozilla_old

Start FF and add your extensions etc (it's starting all over this, but it will see if you have a problem in your existing .mozilla)

Are you using an older .mozilla directory from a different install?

If so could be a permissions prob on the dir.

Setting permissions to 'allow anything' didn't help. Starting a new profile folder does - not sure it's my idea of fun though
