Is this SLED or possibly SLES?

You could use the correct forum if that is the case.
SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED) - NOVELL FORUMS
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) - NOVELL FORUMS

Could this be related to your graphics card?
Possibly you need to boot to level3 login and go su and then do:
    Code:
    sax2 -r -m 0=vesa
    reboot

    Try
    startx
if you still only get CLI
    Leap 15.1_KDE

So it sounds like you have a display now. Thing is it's just basic 'vesa'.
You need to tell us what graphics device you have (nvidia, ATI..?)
