    Default Where is Kate?

    Hi all. I just installed OpenSuse 11.1 but I cannot find Kate text editor anywhere , only KWrite. Can anyone please tell me how to install Kate? Thanks!

    Should be there, mine is,if not, go to YaST - Software management & install from there

    Hi,

    Open Yast then select Package Manager. Search for Kate. There should be a package called kde4-kate. Put a check next to it and then choose accept. This will install kate for you.

    Easier, just do:
    Code:
    sudo zypper install kde4-kate
    openSUSE 12.3 (x86_64) with Kernel 3.7.10-1.16-desktop and KDE 4.11.2 on MacBook Pro
    Latest MS Windows version used: Win95

    only easier after sudo is configured. since he just installed its safe to guess sudo isn't configured yet which makes yast an easier solution
