I doubt it, so far Swine Flu has had a relatively small death ratio...
I mean its a nasty little virus yes but its hardly a full on pandemic.
It seems treatment works though, the Mexican death ratio is higher due to the bad conditions in that nation.
Bird Flu is similar, with treatment it can be evaded.

really? last i heard they (CDC/WHO scientist) hadn't (yet) determined
why the death rate was so much higher in Mexico, nor why it was
(mostly) normally healthy adults (rather than the old/frail or
    young/weak) who died..

maybe you read a scientific journal report that it has been pegged to
"bad conditions" and would provide a URL to that cite, please..

More people die daily in the traffic than have died during the entire "flu" even in the worst case scenario normal flu kills more people.

Great advertisement and fear campaign by the medical companies and WHO ate and swallowed the bait. I hope you've all been buying pharmacy stocks lately.

Swine flu might not be a killer but if 80% of the work force are off with a new flu it will damage the economy. I think that will be the biggest problem with this flu.

It's really mild, death toll wise but I think the reactions of the WHO are appropriate. Who's to say it might mutate again into something more deadly. Think about it. What if the HIV virus became airborn. We'd all be ********d!

the media reporting on this was just pathetic.

In NZ it took them days to actually report what was being reported overseas. They were reporting in a way to put panic into people. I thnk it took about 5 days for the media to report that it was a weaker strain of the virus affecting people outside of mexico. Took them a week to report the WHO figures for the death rate instead of the unconfirmed mexican figures. But all in all the drug companies have managed to move so much of their stock that has been sitting untouched since the bird flu scare, so I guess the hype achieved it's goal, money
