Thread: Infinite loop starting Konqueror

    Default Infinite loop starting Konqueror

KDE 4.2 crashed today. I was then asked to send a bug-report. This lead to non-ending display of Konqueror icons in the task-switcher widget, indicating to me that it resulted in a loop trying to start Konqueror. The only remedy known to me in this situation ist to shutdown all running apps and then restart the system. This is unacceptable... Any solution? Regards H. Stoellinger, Sbg.

Delete you .kde4 directory (execute in your home folder)
    Code:
    rm -r .kde4/
    . Relog.
ps.: all personal settings will be deleted.

Does deleting the .kde4 folder mean a lot of work to do? I haven't changed anything in the directory tree - except the Autostart folder. Being pressed for time at the moment with other (non IT-related) things, I cannot spend a lot of time on this. Thanks for your advice, in any case. Regards H. Stoellinger

No, this directory is getting recreated on the next login. As I mentioned above with deleting .kde4/ the personal informations from KDE programs - contacts from KAdrressBook, mails from KMail, account from Kopete, ect... will be also deleted.
But, if you modified just the Autostart folder, then it isn't to much work. Anyway, recreating the accounts take 5-10 minutes.
    Hope that helps.
