Question Gnome App Appearance Under KDE Desktop

    Hi,

OpenSuSE 10.1 KDE 3. Gnome apps use to have detachable menus. I know about KDE Personal Setting, but how does one change Gnome application setting, when the desktop is KDE?

    Thank you.

After doing some reading, I issued the commands shown below, but Gnome apps like Gimp aren't showing tearoff menus. My desktop is KDE. Any suggestions? Thank you.

    Set:
    Code:
    gconftool-2 --type bool
    --set /desktop/gnome/interface/menus_have_tearoff true
    Verified:
    Code:
    gconftool-2 -a /desktop/gnome/interface

Have a look at the bottom of this page:
Optimal Use of MS TrueType Core Fonts for a KDE Desktop on SuSE - openSUSE
Settings for GTK2 Apps running on KDE

It's about dealing with font settings, but it also gives a hint on how to use Gnome desktop settings under KDE.
