Question Strange disk operations - KDE4 and Flash are suspected

    Hello,

I am using openSuSE 11.0 with the latest version of flash and sometime when there a lot of Flash applications on a page, my hard drive light keeps blinking (meaning that something is writing on the disk).

I really cannot give you a URL which produces the bug because once I restart Firefox, the webpage works just fine. Flash seems to go crazy for no particular reason.

As the topic says, I am using KDE4 (the latest unstable version, updated daily) so maybe is there a link between Flash and KWin?

    Any idea is greatly appreciated,
    Thanks.

There's a (faulty) process that's started when you open a flash link in your browser, that tends to escalate cpu usage. ATM I can't remember it's name.

If you restart FF it will behave, for some time. I tought this has been fixed already, since I haven't noticed it for some time. My FF version is 3.0.8 from Opensuse updates repo.

When your strange activity happens you may run top or ps aux in a terminal to see which is the guilty proccess, if any.

Okay, thanks, I'll look that up the next time my disk starts going berserk.

The process is npviewer.bin. More info here:
