Default Shutdown/restart from Gnome just log me out

Since I've updated to openSUSE 11.1 yesterday, whenever I try to shutdown or restart the computer, I'm just bring back to the login screen.

How can I change that behavior ?

I still haven't found where to configure the shutdown/restart behavior.

    Bug #443514 ?

Default Restart option in GNOME vs the same in KDE.

    Hello,

I have recently installed openSUSE 11.1 on my HP dv4t laptop and I've installed both GNOME and KDE.

I started out using KDE and when I restarted the computer, it behaved as expected by restarting my computer.

But if I use GNOME and choose the Shutdown option, I get this window with 4 buttons one of which is 'restart.'

When I click on this button, the system behaves as if I've chosen 'logout.' It logs out and I get the login screen.

The only way I can restart and get the boot-loader so that I can boot into Widows is to choose either shutdown or do it from the login screen.

I was wondering if anyone could help me fix this thing.

Thank you very much in advance.

It seems it's a bug in Gnome when using kdm as login screen.

I would like to investigate a bit more about the shutdown/restart problem in Gnome...

What are the commands triggered when clicking on the Shutdown and Restart buttons, so that I can try them from console ?

Just installed 11.2 and have the same problem. Shame the bug has been around for more than 6 months.

This was fixed in the latest updates of openSUSE 11.1.
Unfortunately, the patches did not made their way for the 11.2 final release.

From what I've seen in bugzilla, this will be fixed again with the next updates for Gnome.
