First, stop shouting. IT IS NOT POLITE.

Second, has this always happened or is this a new install? Does it happen
on 11.1? Are you using Gnome or KDE? Do you have updates applied for
opensuse? Does this happen just for your user or for a new test user as
well? From which source did you install Eclipse (website, repository, etc.)?

    Good luck.

Maybe the point was missed.... some individuals do not realize the caps
implication so I figured an example would let them know what was meant by
    "shouting".

Not sure what the point is of mentioning the signing, but here's some more
    for you.

    Good luck.

I am using suse 11.0. KDE.
this is a fresh install. ( Actually eclipse never gets install, all u have to do is to run the executable).
I got the eclipse genymede tarball from eclipse's official site.
And No, I dont have all the latest updates on suse 11.0.

I'm confused.... you run the executable and that's where it fails? When I
install Ganymede on my SLED 11 box I just download the file named
    eclipse-java-ganymede-SR2-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz (for my 64-bit system)
and extract it and then run the eclipse executable from within there, so
there is no big ugly "installation" per se. Anyway, is that what you do?
Double-clicking on the .tar.gz won't do the install in that case but may
open an application to let you extract the files to do the installation.

Did you verify the download was valid before trying it by comparing
md5sums or other checksums on the file? My checksum info:

    fffb8d5c712cb519e173f2a955bd69a0
    eclipse-java-ganymede-SR2-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz

Does this problem exist with another system?

    Good luck.

I'm faced with the same error.

I'm using eclipse 3.3-120.9-noarch from Java repository on opensuse 11.1 with kde 4.1.2. I get the same error for the version from the repo-oss repository.

    Code:
