    Default Funambol

One of my few remaining problems after switching from Vista (still dual-booting though) is to sync my PDA. I was hoping to do it via Virtualbox but although the PDA (a Dell Axim x51v) is recognised as a USB device by the XP guest, ActiveSync doesn't find it. The SynCE/Evolution road doesn't work either, hence the question: as I understand it, installing a Funambol server - free and Open Source - would enable me to sync the PDA with either Evolution under Linux (or Google calendar) or Outlook in Virtualbox/XP, no? I only need to sync contacts and calendar, not email.
Can anyone confirm this, and add any experiences, good or bad, with using Funambol with OpenSUSE?

I experimented with Funambol about 2 years back and I found several issues with it. However, since then, they have done a lot of work and it may be worth trying now. Unfortunately, I had to give it up when I "stopped" using any PDAs!

you can avoid installing and maintaining the whole Funambol server and use the gratis service http://my.funambol.com with your PDA. Then to sync with Evolution you can use syncevolution

If you have questions you can ask the Funambol forums. Cheers,

Yes, I've been there and it seems that the Funambol server won't sync through USB, only wifi - is that correct? The reason I wanted the server rather than the online sync was to be able to use my PDA's USB cradle for syncing but if that's not possible I might follow your suggestion, thanks.
