Maybe they're blocking you. I'm using 11.1 on different machines with no problems of any kind.

whatever your problem is with facebook, it is not an openSUSE caused
problem (because i have none of the problems you describe)..

maybe there is something about your particular setup...like:

using desktop effects? turn it off and see if the problem goes away..
have cookies turned off? enable them..
block javascript (maybe use NoScript)? don't..
    etc
    etc
    etc

that is, the problem does not exist in a default installed openSUSE,
so you have to find what you added/changed that is causing the prob..

    Question Re: SUSE and Facebook

    Hello,
I will try the desktop effects and cookies.

It is defenately a SUSE problem because Windows is working fine on the Facebook site.

no, it is NOT an openSUSE problem because mine and many many others
    have NO problem on facebook...

the problem is on YOUR machine...probably something configured wrongly..

Maybe it is a cookie problem. There are 4 Frik Brits on Facebook; 3 of them active. Maybe Facebook forgets which one you are. That would be a cookie problem.

    cool!

THREE different "Frik Brits" from South Africa...and i bet all of them
are having problems with facebook because "It is defenately [sic] a
SUSE problem because Windows is working fine on the Facebook site."

right! if Windows is perfect for you Mr. Brits, perhaps you are just
    perfect for Windows..

    Hi Andy,

Your sarcastic comments aren't warrented nor welcome. In fact they break the terms and conditions of using the forums. Just a warning. You are an NNTP user and I'm sure you wouldn't like to be banned from the forums which is what happens when users ignore warnings. Maybe you were just having a bad day. I hope so. We really wish you would stick around and add constructive comments to threads in these forums.

This is odd, there is nothing really stopping you from using facebook in linux.
The internet is the internet after all.
It could be flash related, did you install flash?
I dont know facebook has flash adds, and sometimes they can screw up rendering without flash installed.
I dont use facebook personally but it works fine for my hubby who uses linux almost as much as I do.
