Default Problem: Environment variables can't be saved

    Hi guys,

I have just installed openSUSE 11.1 with KDE 4.1,I logged as root and installed some programs.
The problem when I closed the terminal everything I did is gone ,that makes me update the environment variables every time I run the terminal.
Is there a way to make the environment variables permanent?

    Regards,

Edit the .profile file to insert your entries.

    export MYVAR=value
openSUSE 12.3 (x86_64) with Kernel 3.7.10-1.16-desktop and KDE 4.11.2 on MacBook Pro
Latest MS Windows version used: Win95
