Thread: Gnome 2.26 washed out menu bar/menus

  1. #1

Default Gnome 2.26 washed out menu bar/menus

Upgraded to Gnome 22.26, now my windows titlebar menu (close, minimize, expand) are washed out as are normal windows menus - when I scroll through them the highlighted one is clear and not legible. Even set my fonts to bold. Mouse hover reveals menu choices, but they aren't visible on the titlebar.

Any ideas? Tried different themes to no avail. Thanks.

Ahhh, finally got a pop-up that said GTK wasn't current or compatible with various themes - isn't there a lick of coordination between the folks at Gnome and GTK2+?

I'm about ready to go back to Winbloze, OpenSuse is delightful, but these incompatibilities between interdependent packages is ridiculous.

New rule: don't bother upgrading between releases, it's bound to blow up in your face.
