Thread: Yast2 sucks like hell

    Default Yast2 sucks like hell

    Hello,

I need your feedback from Yast2.
More than 20 minutes to download "oxygen-icon-theme" with Yast2...what a great record.
Maybe, the next year, i could get KDE 4.2.2 or KDE 4.3

    regards

It's best to just set those two as locked - ridiculous for icons.

Sounds more like your connection speed than YaST.
    I'm confused...No, wait...Maybe I'm not...

The OP's comments suggest a high speed connection is present. Perhaps consider using mirrors openSUSE Download Mirrors - Overview

Check you have IPv6 disabled, some users find that helpful.

I found I had slow speeds with certain repos yesterday. Seems back to normal today. Give it another try.
These things happen from time to time.

right...you should ask to get the money back you paid for
openSUSE...and, use it to buy a faster connection to the net..

    That's not a yast problem. That's a problem reaching a
repository location. Sometimes members of the download pool
have no business being a member

Eeheheh... leave the troll at peace (or pieces)
Anyways, I agree that yast software management is not quite good. Doesn't suck either.
Zypper is not so good either.

    Smart is my choice.
