Top of KDE4 windows are garbled

I am getting a weird graphical glitch in KDE 4 programs. It takes various forms, sometimes everything in an area turns white, other times parts of the window disappears and I can see through to the desktop, and other times parts of a toolbar cover another toolbar. It is always in the top 1/3 of the window it seems. And it only happens with KDE 4 programs, not KDE 3, GTK, or pure Qt programs. It is a serious problem, since it makes it pretty much impossible to do anything. The problem exists with both Qt 4.4 and QT 4.5, both KDE 4.2 and KDE 4 trunk, and with and without compositing. I am using Opensuse 11.1 with an intel graphics chipset. Here is a couple of screenshots of examples:

It looks like it effects Qt windows after all, but not GTK ones (even though I am using the Qt-GTK engine).
