Default wmii from suse windowmanagers repository

    hi,

i installed wmii from openSuse Windowmanager repository. installation works fine, and i can start wmii. then however i only have a green background and a white empty "taskbar" at the bottom. alt + p, alt + enter, nothing works. i see the mouse, but cant do anything with it eiter.

what to do? couldn't compile it either...

    thx in advance!

Try manually copying /etc/X11/wmii/* to the automatically-created $HOME/.wmii-3.5 while in another window manager, and log into 'wmii'.

I've had the same problems, including trying to compile (from suckless.org). Actually mine is wmii-3.6.0-6.1 from OSB/home:/mmj/??? (search for 'wmii' in opensuse.org, use 1-click Install). I don't know whether the copying of the files did the trick or all the mucking around with install/compile somehow nudged something into place. Good luck; I'm using 'wmii' now -- edited files to change 'xterm' to 'mlterm'.

Just use Software search and search for the application you want to install.

    For example:

    Software.openSUSE.org - wmii

(P.S. If you had read the posts in this thread, you would have found a link to the Repo.)
