NO !!! If you read first, you'd know that ndiswrapper is a utility to get Windows drivers working for wireless network cards.
This is weird, my experience is that every camera is recognized. Can you connect the camera, open a terminalwindow, run the command 'lsusb', and copy and paste the output here?

folks would advise to ensure that your USB cable is plugged into a USB port on the computer, and not through the intermediary of some sort of USB hub: recommend you try this direct plugging;
in Menu of Cybershot changing connection Mode for USB from Auto to PTP... resolved the problem !!!!![]()
