Default How can I change the start menu in gnome?

I am running 11.0 w/gnome. I would like to make the start menu a list and expandable similar to windows 98/2000.I don't mind the winXP style, I just would prefer to be able to run down the options and have a second list there for me to pic from instead of haveing to open a window with icons. I like to be able to just scroll down to find the progam instead of having to search for it.

    Thanks,

You wanna remove SLAB and use the traditional menu instead? If so, remove SLAB from the panel, then right click on it and choose Add to panel. Then look for Menu Bar or Traditional Main Menu. That'd work.

    Regards
