Gnome running too slow

Hello.

I’m running openSUSE 11.1 with gnome on a HP Compaq 6715s laptop. Yesterday i upgraded from 11.0, which was running too slow (often with 100% processor in use). This morning, after upgrade, it was working fine, full speed, maximum 10 % processor. Then, i tried to install compiz, i have succesfully installed it, i have configured it, and it crashed (the screen appeared white, and it remained white). Next, i killed the session, i logged in as root (my accound was not working anymore), and i have uninstalled compiz. After that, i could succesfully log in on my account, but now it is running slower again, with 100 % proccesor in use. What should i do? Please help me.

Best regards,
Pripoae Toni.

First thing is what drivers are you using ( ATI propriety, Radeon OS )?

It sounds like you have no 2D accel.

Well, I don’t know. I haven’t installed any driver, just the ones i have on Windows Xp, and probably what have been installed during installation. How can i find what drivers i’m using?
