    Smile Screen Resolution Susi 11.1

    Hello

I am using a dual boot system with Windows XP previously with Susi 10. I upgraded to 11.1 and started using a big SAMSUNG TV as the monitor and a remote keyboard. It is good using the computer from the lounger, but I need to make the icons and text big enough to see!! In XP I set the resolution to 1024x768. It works OK.

In 11.1 it just seemed to make the small fonts harder to read. I set the resolution in YAST to 1920x1080 which made the small font clear again. The whole screen is much sharper in Susi than that resolution in XP. I then set the fonts in KDE to 20 point which fixed most of the problems. I am using Firefox now and everything is nice and big.

When I use Open Office the top line File..Edit..View..etc are still tiny; also so some of the pop up windows are perfect but some are tiny. On the bottom line all the icons and fonts are good except one that looks like a green blob (far right) I cant read the text it seems to say something like "connected at...."

I imagine I have sorted the problem in KDE but not everything.

I appreciate the effort you guys put in If you have any ideas on what I should try next I'd appreciate you comments.

I have to say that Susi 11.1 is impressive it would be good to make the move away from Windows.

    Thanks.

    Have you set the option:

Use my KDE fonts in GTK apps.

In desktop Settings>Appearance>GTK Styles and fonts?

this will force GTK apps to use your normal KDE fonts.

    That should help.
